I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of Iraqi Securities Commission, the electronic gateway through which we aim to enhance communication with all our partners in the financial market, including investors, financial institutions, and those interested in economic affairs.
Iraqi Securities Commission was established under Law No. (74) of 2004 as an independent regulatory authority entrusted with regulating the capital market in Iraq, protecting it from risks and developing its institutional structure in a manner that enhances investor confidence and improves the efficiency, fairness, and transparency of trading in the securities market.
At the Commission, we work to promote a culture of responsible investment and seek to modernize the legislative and regulatory frameworks in line with international best practices, while preserving the specific characteristics of the Iraqi market and its developmental needs. We are also keen to expand market participation by adopting fair disclosure policies strengthening corporate governance in listed companies, and developing the capacities of professionals working in the financial sector.
The Commission has taken important steps toward regional and international openness through its membership in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the Union of Arab Securities Authorities, which contributes to broadening horizons of cooperation, exchanging expertise, and applying global standards.
We remain committed to continuing our efforts to develop a promising Iraqi financial market capable of supporting sustainable economic growth and attracting both local and foreign investment within an environment governed by law and regulated by fairness and transparency.
Faisal Al-Haimus
Chairman of Iraqi Securities Commission
